Miller Law is investigating claims that the engines in 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles can catch fire, even when the engine is turned off.
While no recall has been issued, there have been several complaints of engine fires in Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles, with most occurring while the vehicle is parked with the engine shut off, but others have occurred while the vehicles are being driven. At least one injury has been reported.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration suspects the cause of the fires to be the power steering pump electrical connector, with many of these fires starting on the passenger side of the engine compartment. According to the agency, these fires “can result in an increased risk of occupant injury, injury to persons outside the vehicle, and property damage, with little or no warning.”
As many as 781,000 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles may be impacted.
