About Rick A. Decker
Rick A. Decker is an attorney at The Miller Law Firm. He concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation, automotive supplier issues, as well as class action litigation. Mr. Decker is also the Firm’s Chief Technology Officer. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. Decker has attended vendor training and certification on the iPro Eclipse SE software and routinely attends The Sedona Conference seminars, both in person and via Web-based offerings.
Mr. Decker graduated cum laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2007. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida, graduating summa cum laude, in 2004; he is a member of the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Representative Matters
Mr. Decker has experience at the trial court and appellate court level. He completed a judicial externship at the Michigan Court of Appeals and, after gaining membership to the Michigan Bar, completed a two-year term as a judicial law clerk in the 52-3 District Court. Prior to becoming a member of the Miller Law Firm, Mr. Decker was the managing member of a small general practice law firm; in that capacity he represented clients in general civil litigation, small business development, and criminal law. Before attending law school, Mr. Decker had a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy; his final military assignment was as Program Manager and Fleet Liaison at Strategic Systems Program, Flight Systems Detachment in Cape Canaveral, Florida. His area of expertise included a diverse array of technical specialties including computer science and data management; electro-mechanical systems; and, missile launch and flight control systems. Mr. Decker is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
