About Nicholas J. Caroll
Nicholas J. Carroll is an associate attorney at The Miller Law Firm. His practice focuses on consumer class actions.
Prior to joining The Miller Law Firm, Nicholas practiced at Secrest Wardle, where he handled complex civil litigation involving No-Fault and PIP matters and served as defense counsel in bodily injury claims arising from motor vehicle accidents. Nicholas appeared regularly in state court and drafted a wide range of motions, briefs, and pleadings.
Before entering private practice, Nicholas served as a Staff Attorney at the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, a Detroit-based nonprofit providing pro bono legal services to indigent noncitizens. There, he represented unaccompanied children seeking humanitarian relief, preparing and litigating petitions for immigrant visas and applications for asylum before Michigan family courts, federal immigration courts, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Education
Mr. Carroll graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy, and was the first in his family to graduate from college. Later, he attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor degree. While in law school, Nicholas served as a member of the Detroit Mercy Law Review and published a Note in the Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall Law Review addressing the U.S. Supreme Court’s inconsistent application of standing doctrine. He also served as Executive Vice President of the Student Bar Association, Vice President of the Immigration Law Association, and President of OutLaws, the school’s LGBTQIA2S+ student organization.
