The Miller Law Firm is currently investigating claims that the private data and personal information of as many as 2.5 million McLaren Health Care patients may have been compromised and at risk.
According to reports, 14 of McLaren Health Care’s Michigan hospitals experienced a cybersecurity breach in late August and early September. These cybersecurity attacks may have resulted in the private information of patients being stolen and the possibility of it being leaked on the dark web.
In a statement, officials at McLaren Health Care confirmed that it had experienced a ransomeware event and is investigating the extent to which patient data may have been compromised.
McLaren Health Care is one of Michigan’s largest hospital systems and includes 14 hospitals across the state, as well as ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, and Michigan’s largest network of cancer centers, as well as covering over 730,000 lives across its health maintenance organization plans.
The Miller Law Firm is actively investigating reports associated with this data breach and intends to seek justice for those who may have been affected.
